Things can change quickly on the
people side of your business:
Somebody could suddenly leave,

Here are a couple examples of how
we came in and did more than just fill the gap:
- At a food manufacturer, both
the Controller and VP Finance found jobs closer to home after
the plant had been relocated. Despite only having about one
day of transition time, we came in and covered what used to
be two jobs. We re-engineered the finance area, so that the
company was able to get by with just one person, a Controller,
with less experience than they had before.
- Two years later, again at the
food manufacturer, another quick need came up. The minority
partner was being bought out and the controller was leaving
to go with him. To make matters worse, the deal got closed right
in the middle of the year end audit with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
We came in and got them through the usual year end audit. We
made further improvements in the finance area and later got
them set up with a Controller who has done very well and since
then was promoted to Corporate Controller.
